Martingales are also known as no-slip collars, greyhound collars, limited or humane choke collars. Pink Puppy recommends you never fit your martingale collar where it can actually close around your dogs neck to "choke" them. When fully closed the collar should be flush up against your dog without actually cutting off airflow. This will prevent your dog from being able to slip out of the collar, but also it will be safe for daily wear.
